Birth of the Rub Tester
The SUTHERLAND® 2000™ Rub Tester was developed in 1951 and went on to write the ASTM standard D-5264-98 2011 and TAPPI T-830. Originally developed by the Sutherland Paper Company over 70 years ago it has been used in countless applications from the original paper durability applications to determining the durability of N-95 medical face masks during the Covid-19 pandemic. With 70 years of experience in the industry, we have seen countless copy-cat machines yet none of them can compare to the original Sutherland 2000 Rub Tester.
